Resetting Your Surface Keyboard
Step 1: Close Everything
First things first, let's make sure you've closed all your apps. Just click out of everything you're working on and shut down those programs.
Step 2: Save Your Stuff
If you've got any unfinished work, now's the time to save it. Hit that save button and make sure all your important files are safe and sound.
Step 3: Turn Off Your Surface
Next, hold down the power button as well as the Volume Up . keep holding these until your surface shuts down.
Step 4: Unplug Anything Extra
If you've got any extra stuff plugged into your Surface, like a mouse or another keyboard, go ahead and unplug them for now. We want to focus on just the built-in keyboard.
Step 5: Turn It Back On
Now, press the power button again to turn your Surface back on. Let it boot up like normal and log in when it asks you to.
Step 6: Test Your Keyboard
Once you're logged in, try out your keyboard. Type some stuff, hit all the keys, and see if everything's working smoothly again.
Step 7: Still Having Problems?
If your keyboard is still giving you trouble after the reboot, don't stress! There are more things we can try, like checking for updates or if it isn't working at all visit the IT Department for more help.
